OUR MISSION

PASS Fulham

Parents Alliance for Secondary Schools

Who and What are we:  We are an alliance of parents from widely differing backgrounds and educations who want to send our children to local state secondary schools.

Where: We live in Fulham in the South of Hammersmith and Fulham Borough.

When: Most of us have children in Key stage one, so we are laying the path to do this within four years.

WELCOME

Why: There are a variety of reasons why we want to do this, and not everyone has the same reasons:
We believe a mixed education (different cultures, different countries, different backgrounds, different needs) is beneficial for all involved.
We want children to stay together from primary to secondary schools
We believe local schools build local communities
We want to avoid ridiculous travel-times so parents and children have more time

How: We want to educate the community, ourselves and our children about secondary schools. We hope to include secondary head teachers or their representatives in key stage 2 transition talks at each local primary school.
We want to build links between local secondary and primary schools. This would ease the transition for the younger students and would build self esteem for the older ones.
We want to encourage local volunteers to come into secondary schools to help with ongoing projects in their area of expertise or one-off programmes.

The bottom line: We believe that with strong and visionary leadership, effective teaching, a disciplined environment and community involvement every secondary school can be one that we would be proud to send our children to.
